20 LOUISVILLE SLUGGER FACEBOOK® FANS WIN WORLD SERIES® CHAMPION BATS
Winners Represent 17 States!
LOUISVILLE, KY (December 8, 2011) – Twenty lucky baseball fans are getting early gifts this December – commemorative 2011 St. Louis Cardinals World Series Champion bats courtesy of Louisville Slugger®, the #1 bat in Major League Baseball®.
The storied company randomly drew winners from thousands of entries posted on the 2011 World Series Bat Giveaway sweepstakes at facebook.com/louisvilleslugger. The company initially gave away 45 World Series Champions bats in St. Louis the day after the Cardinals won the title through a social media scavenger hunt.
“We had such a great time giving bats away in St. Louis that we wanted to do it again for our fans,” said Rick Redman, VP Corporate Communications for Hillerich & Bradsby Co., makers of Louisville Slugger bats, the Official Bat of Major League Baseball. “Plus, there were so many people following the clues on Facebook and Twitter that didn’t find a bat, we wanted to give them and other fans who live in other parts of the country chances to win 2011 World Series bats.“
Entries came in from all across the country, including some that were mailed in the old fashioned way. Those mail-in entries were added to the Facebook entries and then a random drawing took place, with the 20 winners coming from 17 states!
“It’s pretty cool for us to see so many baseball fans from everywhere engaged with this promotion,” Redman said. “We’ll be doing lots more giveaways through social media channels and scavenger hunts, including Louisville Slugger TPX Z-1000 bats for high school players across the U.S. Watch our Facebook page to see when and where!”
