THE SWEETEST BBCOR BATS JUST GOT SWEETER!
Buy a Z-1000 BBCOR, Get a Louisville Slugger M9 Pro Maple Bat Free!

LOUISVILLE, KY (January 5, 2012) – Louisville Slugger® TPX® makes products that make players great. That’s why the storied and cutting-edge bat maker crafted The Sweetest Spots™ in BBCOR.

Now the maker of the #1 bat in Major League Baseball® has a very sweet deal for players who have to get a BBCOR bat – buy a Z-1000 and get a genuine Louisville Slugger M9 Pro Maple bat absolutely free!

“That’s an $85 value and gives players the chance to swing the best bat in BBCOR and the wood bat that’s number one in Major League Baseball too,” said Louisville Slugger VP of Global Business Development Jeff Lienhart.

As of January 1, bats used by high school players in interscholastic play must be BBCOR-certified as required by the National Federation of High Schools. Old BESR-certified bats will no longer be permitted for play.

“One of the best things about BBCOR is it reduces the performance gap between the equipment players use in high school and college to what they would use in professional baseball,” Lienhart said. “If you are one of the best players with your BBCOR bat, you won't have as big of a jump as you aspire to hit wood at the next level.”

Louisville Slugger wants to provide high school players who dream of playing pro ball a great BBCOR bat and, at the same time, a chance to learn to hit with wood by giving them the free M9 Pro Maple bat with the purchase of the Z-1000.

“We’ve been making legends with our wood bats for 128 years,” Lienhart said, “from Babe Ruth to Derek Jeter, Jackie Robinson to Josh Hamilton, and everyone in between.”

Learning to hit with the M9 wood bat will make players hit even better with their new Z-1000, a BBCOR bat that is above the rest.

“There’s a myth that all BBCOR bats are created equal, but that’s not true. Players who’ve hit with the Louisville Slugger TPX Z-1000 BBCOR bat say it’s better than other BBCOR bats and it’s the closest to a BESR bat they’ve found,” Lienhart said.

High school players aren’t the only ones who’ll benefit from the Z-1000 and its great balance, swing weight and feel. Top college players will also be using the Z-1000 in Omaha this year.

“Don’t just take our word that the Z-1000 is the best BBCOR bat. There are plenty of player reviews online, so we encourage everyone to check those out.”

Players have between now and March 11, 2012, to get in on the “Buy a Z-1000 BBCOR bat get a free M9 Pro Maple bat” deal. Participating retailers include Dick’s Sporting Goods, Academy Sports + Outdoor, The Sports Authority and many local retailers.

About the Z-1000: This high-performance bat is made with LS-2X Composite Technology and enhanced with S1iD Barrel Technology.

LS-2X Composite Technology:
New thinner, high-strength and lightweight graphite fibers allow use of more layers in the Z-1000 barrel. That adds strength, but permits a wall that is thinner. This creates better performance while maintaining durability.

S1iD Barrel Technology:
This technology (S1iD stands for “Swing 1 inner Disc) allows the barrel to flex to its maximum allowable performance level from the first swing, making the bat “game ready.”

Suggested retail for the High School/College Z-1000 (model BB12Z) is $369.95.
Suggested retail for the M9 MLB Pro Maple wood bat (model C271) is $84.95.
