Second Annual Louisville Slugger BaseballCON & SoftballCON
Adds Mini-Camps to the CONference Lineup This Year

LOUISVILLE, KY (January 20, 2012) – That’s right, folks! Two-time Olympic gold medalist Jessica Mendoza, ESPN analyst and reporter, is headed to Louisville for the second annual Louisville Slugger BaseballCON and SoftballCON Conference & Convention, taking place next weekend, January 27-28 at the Kentucky International Convention Center.

Mendoza is one of the key instructors of a brand new component of the CONference, the TPS and TPX Preseason Mini-Camps. The camps are for youth players ages 7-18 and will take place on Saturday, January 28, from 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. The softball mini-camp offers young athletes a chance to receive hands-on instruction from Mendoza, while the baseball mini-camp will be led by the owners of Future Pro Baseball, Mike and Matt Baldwin.

“I am very excited about being a part of this year’s event,” Mendoza said. “One of my favorite things to do is encourage young athletes and help them improve their games. I’m very much looking forward to the camps.”

Louisville Slugger BaseballCON & SoftballCON also returns to educate area high school youth and travel ball coaches.  The lineup for this year’s conference presenters is stellar. Along with Mendoza, head baseball and softball coaches from all over the Bluegrass and surrounding states will be in attendance, including U of L, UK, WKU, EKU, Ohio State, St. Louis University, Ball State, Bellarmine, Indiana State, University of Cincinnati and University of Indianapolis.  BaseballCON & SoftballCON start on Friday, January 27 and run through Saturday the 28 with over 30 different class topics for coaches to choose from.

“We wanted to build on the success of last year’s conference but with the addition of some fun events, like the Preseason Mini-Camp for athletes and an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory for the coaches,” said Aaron Flaker with JAM Brands Sports, creator of Louisville Slugger BaseballCON and SoftballCON.

Registration for the TPX and TPS Preseason Mini-Camps is open now and starts at $59 per player, $49 per player for groups of 5 or more. Coaches can register for Louisville Slugger BaseballCON & SoftballCON for $74 or $69 for groups of 5 or more.
