Coaches, AD, President to Get Them First
LOUISVILLE, KY (June 29, 2011) – The University of South Carolina Gamecocks made history with the school’s second straight National Championship in baseball. Now Gamecock fans can celebrate USC’s back-to-back titles with limited-edition specially inscribed and officially licensed bats from historic batmaker Louisville Slugger®.
The bats are engraved with the official National Championship logo, the scores and dates of the two wins over Florida in the finals, as well as two University of South Carolina logos.
"It’s rare when any program in any collegiate sport wins back-to-back national titles, so Gamecock fans will want this special keepsake to always remember this special time in South Carolina history," said Louisville Slugger Director of Premium and Promotional Bat Sales Brent Falkenstein. "Most fans will want to display this bat right away, while others might want to buy it now and hold it for a very special gift to give a Gamecock fan for Christmas, a birthday or another special occasion."
Only 2,011 of these special commemorative bats will be made by Louisville Slugger, making them collectibles that will be cherished by Gamecock fans everywhere.
Each bat will be engraved with its number in the series of 2,011 (i.e.,1 of 2011, 2 of 2011, 3 of 2011, etc.).
"Limiting the number of these very special South Carolina Gamecock National Championship bats will make each one more valuable as the years go by," Falkenstein said. "Gamecock fans will certainly want this bat to be a part of their University of South Carolina memorabilia. No collection will be complete without it since it represents the Gamecocks’ back-to-back national championships in baseball."
Louisville Slugger will send the first six of these limited edition bats to the baseball coaches, athletic director and president at the University of South Carolina as special gifts from the storied batmaker, now celebrating its 127th year in baseball.
These limited edition University of South Carolina Gamecock 2011 National Championship bats sell to the public for $130 plus shipping. They are available at www.sluggergifts.com.
"With just 2,011 being made as special limited-edition bats, they’ll go fast," Falkenstein said. "Once they’re gone, they’re gone."
