CHARLIE BROWN NAMED VP OF GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN & SOURCING AT HILLERICH & BRADSBY CO.

LOUISVILLE, KY – (March 26, 2012) Hillerich & Bradsby Co., parent of the iconic Louisville Slugger® brand, has named Charlie Brown to the position of Vice President of Global Supply Chain and Sourcing.

Brown joins H&B after a 30-year career as an executive-level director of global sourcing management and product creation for Nike Inc. and Under Armour Inc.

“Charlie is an experienced and well-educated leader with a passion and motivation for sports product development and manufacturing that will continue to expand here at H&B,” said H&B CEO John Hillerich IV. “His knowledge, insight and energy will greatly benefit H&B.”

Hillerich says Brown, who joined the company in 2012, has a wide array of domestic and international business experience which will greatly benefit H&B as it competes in the global marketplace. He noted that Brown has a successful track record of expanding global supply chains into new manufacturing sources at both Nike and Under Armour.

Originally from Moundsville, W. Va., Brown began his career with Security National Bank in Wheeling, W.Va. as a Financial Analyst in the Trust Department. Shortly thereafter he started his sporting goods career with Nike, moving into the position of Footwear Production Manager for Nike Inc., where he continued to work for nearly three decades, while also earning his MBA in International Business. Brown spent 11 of those years working overseas in manufacturing, engineering and product development roles in the Korea and Thailand offices, before moving to China as General Manager of Manufacturing Operations. While in China he also had the opportunity to establish southern China’s first American Chamber of Commerce organization for American companies doing business there. He spent the remaining time at Nike’s headquarters in Beaverton, Ore., serving in a number of Footwear Product Creation roles prior to leaving Nike as their Senior Director of Global Corporate Responsibility Compliance. After 28 years at Nike Inc., Brown joined Under Armour Inc. in Baltimore as their Senior Director of Global Footwear Sourcing and Product Development.

As Hillerich & Bradsby’s VP of Global Chain Supply and Sourcing, Brown will be responsible for H&B’s global athletic goods supply chain functions and operations, as well as setting future global sourcing direction as the brand grows.

Brown holds an MBA in International Business Management from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) from West Virginia University.

Brown is married to Mary, and together they have three children. He enjoys coaching youth sports, running, traveling and reading. He is a member of the National Alumni Association Board of Directors for West Virginia University and is involved in various philanthropic organizations.
