LOUISVILLE SLUGGER® TEAMS ARIZONA & FLORIDA STATE
COME INTO OMAHA SWINGING "HOT STICKS"!
OMAHA, NE (June 13, 2012) – The NCAA College World Series gets underway this week, and Louisville Slugger-sponsored programs Arizona and Florida State will be swinging away when the action starts. Both programs have produced prolific offense in winning their Super Regionals, enough that announcers on ESPN called their bats "hot sticks!"
Swinging away with their Louisville Slugger BBCOR bats, the Wildcats and Seminoles were belting the ball like few teams in college baseball post-season history. Florida State’s 35 runs in two Super Regional wins tied an NCAA record. Arizona had 23 hits and 14 runs in its sweep of St. John’s. Arizona and FSU are both swinging the 2012 Exo2, Omaha and Z-1000, as well as the new 2013 Exo3 and Omaha Balanced bats. Look for 2013 bats this fall.
"We’re proud of these coaches and their programs and wish both all the very best of luck in Omaha," said Louisville Slugger Collegiate Program Manager Kevin Uhrhan. "The innovative bats and gloves they’ll use in Omaha were developed from feedback we received while doing research and development with these and the other college programs we sponsor. So, in reality, the players are using products they actually had a hand in helping design."
Player feedback has been part of Louisville Slugger’s model for innovation since the company made its very first bat for professional player Pete Browning in 1884. 128 years later, Louisville Slugger – the maker of the Number One Bat in Major League Baseball® – continues to use that method to create leading-edge technology for players at all levels.
