75th-ANNIVERSARY BASEBALL HALL OF FAME COMMEMORATIVE BATS
FROM LOUISVILLE SLUGGER® AND BIGTIMEBATS.COM SURE TO BE A HIT WITH FANS

LOUISVILLE, KY (July 24, 2014) –It’s been 75 years since the Baseball Hall of Fame opened in Cooperstown, N.Y. On this special anniversary the baseball mecca will induct six new members – Bobby Cox, Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, Tony LaRussa, Frank Thomas and Joe Torre – who make up one of the strongest classes ever enshrined. Now, baseball fans have a chance to be part of the history with one of seven 75th-anniversary limited-edition Baseball Hall of Fame bat designs from Louisville Slugger and bigtimebats.com.

“There’s a bat for all six of the inductees, and each player’s bat is available with a second bat that features a Hall of Fame 75th-Anniversary coin inserted into the barrel,” said Louisville Slugger specialty bat manager Brent Falkenstein. “It makes a great set for collectors on this special anniversary of the Hall of Fame.”

Each of the six inductee bats are limited to a quantity of 2,014 in honor of the 2014 Hall of Fame class, and they are individually numbered and engraved with the Hall of Fame 75th-Anniversary logo. The inductees’ bats come with their teams’ logos and colors and are inscribed with the players’ signatures and numbers, as well as career statistics and highlights. Since Greg Maddux split the bulk of his career between Chicago and Atlanta, there are two bats for him, one with the Cubs logo and one with the Braves logo. Each bat also is engraved with the MLB® logo and contains Major League Baseball’s authentication hologram.

The Hall of Fame 75th-Anniversary-coin bat comes in Louisville Slugger’s rich brown Hornsby finish with gold branding and engraving. In addition to the 75th-Anniversary logo and coin, these bats are engraved with the membership numbers in the 2014 Hall of Fame: 306 members, 240 of whom are players; 10 umpires; 23 managers; and 33 executives.

“It’s a unique bat, unlike any bat we’ve ever been involved with,” Falkenstein said. “Our partners at bigtimebats.com have put forth a hall-of-fame effort to make these special 75th-Anniversary Baseball Hall of Fame bats. Collectors are grabbing them fast.”

The bats range in price from $129.95 to $199.99. Sets, including a commemorative bat holder, sell for $349.90 at bigtimebats.com.
