LOUISVILLE, KY (June 19, 2014) –There’s been much debate since the start of the 2014 College World Series® over the lack of home runs hit in T.D. Ameritrade Park. Big ball park. Strong wind blowing in. BBCOR bats with less pop than the old BESR bats.

Finally, there has been a home run! And it was hit with a Louisville Slugger Select 715. It came in the ninth game of the CWS and was the lone run scored when Texas eliminated UC Irvine 1-0. The 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 is a three-piece performance hybrid bat with a 100-percent composite handle and an AC21 alloy barrel crafted for power. Louisville Slugger debuted the bat and its other 2015 performance-line bats, the Prime 915 and the Omaha 515, during the Regionals. More teams in the tournament have swung Louisville Slugger performance bats than any other brand.

“Our college programs are extremely important to us,” said Louisville Slugger Amateur Baseball Business Manager Kevin Uhrhan. “Not just for exposure, but also for product development. These elite college athletes test bats we’re developing against live pitching and provide vital insight and feedback to help us produce a final product that will perform for players at all levels, including high school and youth players. It’s rewarding for them and us when the products they helped develop carry them to the pinnacle of amateur baseball.”

Louisville Slugger revealed its complete line of 2015 performance bats – the Prime 915, Select 715 and Omaha 515 – at the CWS in the Omaha Baseball Village and at the Slumpbuster® Tournament in Council Bluffs. Limited quantities of these new bats will be available for purchase at select retailers on June 20, with the full national launch to come in August.
